Don’t assume that a higher workload automatically means better training. Choose a place where the workload is challenging but sustainable - your physical and mental well-being matter too. There’s no point choosing a place you can’t sustain for three years. Surviving the programme is important, but thriving through it is what really matters.
Know the place you’re choosing inside out not just its brand name or reputation. The college, workload, patient exposure, faculty, and overall environment matter just as much as the brand.
I chose MD Medicine because of the variety of the specialty, the clinical reasoning involved, and the opportunity to manage a wide variety of complex cases. It gives you a strong foundation in almost every field of medicine and keeps the learning curve steep throughout your career.
